The MED COLOURS Consortium, coordinated by ITL (Institute for Transport and Logistics Foundation), met once again in-person on the 15th and 16th of May in Lyon, France.
The meeting was hosted by the project partner Societé Publique Locale – Lyon Confluence (SPL Lyon Confluence) in beautiful Lyon. It was a friutful two-day meeting in which partners discussed the current state of advancements of the project activities, milestones and joint strategies for upscaling a new generation of logistics and urban planning that can enable the transition towards decarbonised and smart cities.
Maxime Valentin, Director of SPL Lyon Confluence, opened the meeting with a welcome speech. Afterwards, partners involved in the 5 Pilot Actions presented the current state of the activities in their respective MED cities: Livorno, Cesena, Koper, Lisbon and Lyon. Project partners discussed the current state of activities and engaged in a peer-review monitoring session where they could exchange insightful ideas and benefit from each other’s feedback.
The MED COLOURS cities involved in the project (Livorno, Cesena, Koper, Lisbon, Lyon, and Thessaloniki) are supported by the “knowledge partners” in developing innovative urban logistics solution and plans. Finally, OPEN ENLoCC presented the ongoing communication activities and, together with ITL, engaged the other partners in an open discussion on the current scenarios and innovative trends in urban logistics.
The consortium meeting closed with a site visit to the Hôtel Logistique Urbain – HLU Lyon Gerland, a logistic hub located in the southern outskirts of the city. Inaugurated in 2024 and covering a surface of 29,000 m2, it represents one of the biggest logistic hubs in France with an innovative and low-emission building aimed at fostering a more sustainable last-mile delivery in the Lyon metropolitan area. Thanks to Elsa Roussellet of LPA Mobilités for introducing us to this emblematic site of low-carbon logistics!
A special thanks goes to Judith Cazas, project officer of Interreg Euro-MED Programme, to have joined this project meeting and provided valuable support to the MED COLOURS consortium.
Stay tuned and follow us in this exciting journey!
