08/09/2026

The MED COLOURS project will take part in the CIVITAS Forum 2026, taking place in Thessaloniki, Greece, from 15 to 17 September, bringing its experience in sustainable urban logistics to the European debate on how research and innovation can translate into concrete solutions for cities.

On Thursday, 17 September, from 14:00 to 15:30, Lorenzo Cello from ITL, coordinator of MED COLOURS, will contribute as a speaker to the session City–Innovation Partnerships in Action: From Research to Urban Logistics Transformation in Thessaloniki.”

The workshop will explore how collaboration between cities, research organisations and local stakeholders can help turn research and innovation into practical urban logistics solutions. With Thessaloniki as its main case study, the session will draw on experiences from the DISCO project, complemented by MED COLOURS and insights from the Shift2Zero, CodeZERO and UNCHAIN projects, while also showcasing good practices from other European cities.

The discussion will focus on the role of data-driven tools, living labs, demonstration actions and Sustainable Urban Logistics Plans (SULPs) in supporting cities in the design, testing and scale-up of more sustainable urban logistics measures.

MED COLOURS will bring to the discussion its experience in developing and testing innovative approaches to urban freight and logistics across Mediterranean cities, contributing to the exchange of knowledge and practices among European projects and urban stakeholders.

Meet MED COLOURS at the CIVITAS Forum 2026 and join the conversation on how European cities can move from research and experimentation to the implementation of more sustainable and effective urban logistics solutions!
